VIEW Powerlines A medical office building was being built at this site. At the time of the accident, the main activity was filling the footers for the building with concrete. This was done by the use of a 42-meter pump truck. The pump truck parked near the footings, and the driver asked the foreman if it was acceptable to park at that location. The foreman stated that as long as the boom of the pump truck could reach all the perimeter of the building, the driver could park there. The driver operated the boom of the pump truck by means of a remote control. The boom was used to deliver the concrete to the footings. The foreman held the hose at the end of the boom, and directed the flow of the concrete. Both the foreman and the driver/operator were within several feet of one another, and were looking at the end of the boom from where the concrete was flowing. They did not realize that the upper portion of the boom was nearing 7200-volt electrical lines that were over the construction site. The boom contacted the electrical line, and the foreman was electrocuted. The driver/operator was not injured.
